Our Story
Geography, population and governance of Koya Chiefdom
The Koya Agricultural Cooperative Society limited is a legally registered entity with the Department of Cooperatives under the Sierra Leone Cooperatives Societies act of 1977. The initiative was pioneered by four indigenes of Koya Chiefdom (Mr. Sheka Mansaray, Mr. Anthony Koroma Mr. Abdul Kabba Kargbo, and Mr. James Kanu) who later involved other descendants’ of the chiefdom to form a formidable conclave to accelerate positive outcomes of the initiative.

Our Mission
The objective of the Cooperative is to organize the farmers to work together, and facilitate their access to knowledge about improved farming or production methods; access to the appropriate agricultural inputs,including seeds, equipment, finance, and technical/extension support; introduction of high value crops,including tree crops; promote value addition/processing, and seek reliable markets for inputs and products.

Our Vission
The vision of the Koya Agricultural Cooperative Society is to be able to empower small-holder farmers in Koya Chiefdom to scale up from subsistence agriculture to commercial agriculture, and thus improve their household incomes and the well-being of their families, as well as reduce poverty and enhance the development of the Chiefdom.
